A message from our Commander
Clarke County Memorial VFW Post 9760 is a proud organization with a rich history of supporting veterans and community needs. Located just south of the town of Berryville, at 425 South Buckmarsh Street, the grounds are spacious and picturesque. Upon entering, there is an impressive display of two cannons flanking the top of a long, winding driveway. The brick building that is home to Post 9760 is neat, attractive and entirely functional in meeting all of our needs.
Beyond brick and mortar, the post is an active social center, with a comfortable, welcoming canteen. The canteen area displays military artifacts, memorabilia and photos. The social hall is roomy and suitable for large gatherings, such as parties, open houses, and wedding receptions. There is an outdoor shelter that serves as an ideal venue for summer picnics and barbeques.
Although there is a diversity of military service among our members, we share in the camaraderie that comes from serving in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil. Our members work cooperatively on a wide array of projects that support veterans and enhance the community, including student essay competitions and scholarships. Our Honor Guard has proudly performed military services at funerals for hundreds of local veterans. Our post is also home to an outstanding and active Auxiliary chapter.
We continually need new members to sustain our mission of supporting veterans and the community. Prospective members are encouraged to bring military documentation that will determine eligibility. You are always welcome at Post 9760 in Berryville.
